Introduction
The CXO-Excel Add-In allows you to create highly formatted books using the content of the CXO-Cockpit. The Excel Add-In reuses the report definitions of the CXO-Cockpit and allows custom formatting on these report objects so you can create a managment book exactly the way you want.
The CXO-Excel Add-In has the following main features:
- Insert multiple CXO-Cockpit reporting objects on one worksheet
- Change or fix dimensionality of the CXO objects
- Refresh data only (leave custom formatting) in the CXO objects
- Copy Excel Worksheets and fix on different Point of View (POV) members for each copied sheet
- Maintain a central POV for the whole Excel Workbook
The following CXO-Cockpit reporting objects can be used in the Add-In:
- Multi Column report formatted datatables
- Financial Statement report formatted datatables
- POV Comments of all reports
- Dynamic POV labels

Main Functionality
Most functionality of the CXO-Excel Add-In can be accessed via the CXO-Cockpit Ribbon in Excel.
The CXO-Cockpit Ribbon has three sections:
- CXO-Workbook: Contains commands that reflect all CXO-Objects on all worksheets (whole workbook)
- CXO-Worksheet: Contains commands that reflect all CXO-Objects of the current worksheet
- CXO-Object: Contains command to insert, modify and delete the CXO-Objects on the current worksheet

Connect
By clicking the connect button, you can connect using the Login Dialog to a CXO-Cockpit Application. When your application is not in the list you can also add applications using this dialog. Once the application is connected all ribbon buttons will be enabled and the title of the connect button changes in disconnect.
When clicking disconnect, Excel gets disconnected from the CXO-Cockpit application and all ribbon buttons will be disabled
Change Central Point of View
The central point of view is set for the whole workbook. This allows you to use the same workbook every month. Change the period and press refresh and you will get an updated workbook with the latest figures.
The central point of view does not apply when:
- CXO-Objects have initial values in the report dimensions from the central POV.
- CXO-Objects have POV fixes applied.
After changing the central point of view, the data is not refreshed yet. Press one of the two refresh buttons to see the effect of the POV change.
Refresh Workbook
Refreshing a workbook means refreshing the data of all CXO-Objects on all CXO-Worksheets. The refresh function does not apply formatting, it only refreshes the cell values (formatting is only applied when inserting a new CXO-Object). Refreshing only the cell values means that you can apply any kind of custom Excel formatting you would like and use the same workbook for every reporting period.
CXO Object
The following CXO-Cockpit reporting objects can be used in the Add-In:
- Multi Column report formatted datatables
- Financial Statement report formatted datatables
- POV Comments of all reports
- Dynamic POV labels
POV Fixes
POV Fixes allow you to fix a specific point of view member for a CXO-Object. This is helpfull when you want to for example display the P&L statement for the four main regions: Europe, USA, Asia and South America. You can add the same CXO-Object four times on the same worksheet, but each time with a different Entity fix. The central point of view settings of the entity dimension will not effect these 4 CXO-Objects.
