Introduction

Since the popular mobile iPad device is adopted by C-level management of major organizations at a surprisingly fast pace, we have developed an iPad & iPhone ‘app’ to meet the expectations of these key users. Our iPad & iPhone application brings all functionality of the CXO-Cockpit web-applications to the iPad & iPhone, and adds functionality that make it even easier and more user-friendly for mobile users.

Basic Functionality

All CXO-Cockpit reports are compatible with the iPad & iPhone app. There are no adjustments required to the reports in order to run them on a mobile platform. All regular analysis features of the CXO-Cockpit reports work the same as in the CXO-Cockpit web application. 

In general the iPad and iPhone clients have the following differences compared to the CXO-Cockpit web client:

• Menu groups are shown graphical using tabbar icons
• Navigation is done using sliding of report thumbnails
• Currently it is not possible to edit comments, this functioanlity is expected in later versions
• Currently it is not possible to run StoryBoards, this functioanlity is expected in later versions
• Currently it is not possible to create or email bookmarks, this functioanlity is expected in later versions
• Currently it is not possible to print reports or StoryBoards, this functioanlity is expected in later versions

Login & Logout

In order to log in, please complete the following steps:

1. Enter your user id
2. Enter your password
3. Enter your domain (only when using Active Directory Security)
4. Select the application (source)
5. Press the login button

The app will automatically remember the user id of the last login. The login screen can also remember the password, but this happens only when the "Remember password" field is set to "ON" and when your company policy allows you to remember passwords.

In order to logout press the "Logout" button and you will return to the login screen.

Navigation

The report menu is shown when clicking on the menu group in the tabbar. Every menu group has a unique tabbar icon representing the topic of the reports.

The reports are represented by small prefaces (thumbnails) in combination with the report title. The report thumbnails allow end users to identify the report, but it also allows users quickly identify exceptional situations (large red bars can be easilly seen on the thumnail and could indicate an exceptional situation)

POV Selection

The Point of View can be easilly changed by clciking the "POV" button. You can easilly select the required member by browsing the dimension hierarcy or by usin the search functionality.

Installation & Configuration

The CXO-Cockpit iPad app can installed by downloading it from the iTunes App Store. You can either search in the App store on CXO-Cockpit or use this link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cxo-cockpit/id426336180

Configuration of the app can be done by completing the following steps:

1. Go to iPad or iPhone settings.
2. Find CXO-Cockpit in the "Apps" section in the left menu.
3. Change URL from default to URL of your server.
   

Demo Application

When the app is installed from the "Apple App Store", it is automatically configured to use the Comma Communication HFM demo application. This demo application shows the most common reports and gives a good impression of the CXO-Cockpit capabilities. 

In order to login into this application use the following credentials:

Password: password
