Introduction

This wizard guides trough the steps of basic configuration of an CXO Application. Most of these steps can be done manually in the Maintain System Settings dialog and the Application Variables maintenance screen.

Configuration Steps

The 'Configure New Application Wizard' will take you trough the follwing steps:

License Information

Enter a valid license key. After entering the license key the system will tell you when the license expires, how much concurrent users are allowed, what system modules, etc.

Application Adapter

Select if CXO Cockpit runs directly on OLAP (Free Model) or if a Backend System Adapter is needed. When selecting a Backend System Adapter the wizard will automatically create a CXO Fact Database and a CXO Staging Database. There is also the option to add the Backend System Adapter Manually. In this case, the wizard is finnished and you can set up the adapter at a later stage.

OLAP Connectivity

Select here what OLAP System is used (e.g. Microsoft SQL 2008 or Hyperion Essbase) and specify the OLAP Connection properties. In case of a free model, specify the properties of the existing OLAP environment. In case of using a Backend System Adapter, the connnection properties will be used to create the OLAP database automatically.

Website URL

The CXO Design Studio uses a previewer for CXO Cockpit reports and CXO Views. In order to show the previewer it needs to know the CXO Cockpit URL and the CXO Viewer URL. Make sure that the URL ends with '/'.

Next Steps

After configuring a new application, you directly start building reports. You can now also add the application to the website.
