Introduction
Formats are reusable building blocks that allow you to define how List items and the corresponding numbers are displayed and formatted. Depending on the List type certain attributes will be used or not. The following list types support formatting:
Format Attributes
The format maintenance screen contains basic and advanced attributes. The basic attributes are the ones that are most common to use. Press the advanced button in the Maintenance Screen to see all attributes including the advanced.
Basic Attributes
| Attribute | Type | Description |

| Name | Text | The name should be something that is easy to recognize when building report like: Default_bold_underline |
| Font Style | Text | The font style can be one of the following: Normal, Bold, Underline and Italic |
| Fore Color | Color | The forecolor defines the color of the text |
| Backcolor | Color | The backcolor defines the color of the background |
| Indent | Number | The indent attribute defines the number of blank spaces before to put in front of the List Item. This attribute is only supported for: Rows List. |
| Skip | Yes/No | When the skip is set to: Yes, the line above will be left blank. This attribute is only supported for: Rows List |
| Line above | Yes/No | When line above is set to:Yes a line will displayed above the row item. Use this attribute to create a sum format. This attribute is only supported for: Rows List. |
| Scale | Scale | The scale defines how the numbers should be scaled. |
| Precision | Number | Defines the number of decimals used for presenting the number. Options are 0-6. |
| Vertical Align | Text | Defines how the column header should aligned. Options are: Top, Middle, Bottom. This attribute is only supported for: Columns List. |
| Horizontal Align | Text | Defines how the column header should aligned. Options are: Left, Middle, Right. This attribute is only supported for: Columns List. |
Advanced Attributes
The advanced attributes are only supported for the list type Pick List and only for those Pick Lists that are used to create customised formatted charts like on Multiple Bar & Line Charts reports.

| Chart Bar Style | Bar Style | Defines the style of the bars in the chart. Click on the type to see the different options. |
| Chart Dash Style | Dash Style | Defines if the line is dashed and what kind of dash. Click on the type to see the different options. |
| Chart Line Style | Line Style | Defines how the line should drawed. Click on the type to see the different options. |
| Chart Line Width | Number | Defines the line width in pixels. |
| Chart Series Color | Color | Defines the color of the chart series. Leaving the color to white means that the chart will use autocoloring. |
| Chart Shape Type | Shape Style; | Defines the type of the chart series. Click on the type to see the different options. |
| Chart Shape Size | Number | Defines the shape of the chart. |
| Chart Shape Color | Color | Defines the color of the shape. Leaving the color to white means that the chart will use autocoloring. |
